On the first Friday of every month, join Erin of respir8mke for this special offering.
Yin is a perfect element to add to your practice. This is a slow paced, gentle style of yoga in which all postures are seated or laying down. One intent is to draw the practitioner into a deeply meditative internal space while exploring their ‘edges’ and what physical limitations may exist. More than any intensity that we seek, however, is time. Time to relax into the shape and surrender to the present moment. What a beautiful intention to couple
with our breath.
What does yin do? Yin works with the connective tissues of the body rather than the muscles such as fascia, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules and even bones
through long holds.
Why will the breath matter? Our external environment can change our breath, let’s use our breath to change our internal environment. Being cued to breath appropriately at certain key points within the posture holds will allow us to teach nervous system to stay within its window of tolerance even in
discomfort.
