Event Series Event Series: Tuesday Morning Kriya and Meditation

Morning Kriya and Meditation

August 6 @ 6:00 AM6:30 AM CDT

Kriya holds a long lineage and deep tradition rooted all the way back into the Vedic texts. This sacred work was designed to purify the channels of the body and the mind. The subtext of this work describes the heat building element of the body movement, breath and mantra and in translation means to accept pain as help for purification. In the Sutras of Patanjali he states, “Anything burned out will be purified, the more you fire gold, the more pure it becomes. Each time it goes into the fire, more impurities are removed.” He goes on to explain that despite the nature of the mind is to run after pleasure that we will actually be happy to receive the pain if we keep in mind its purifying effects.
Can you make a connection to that concept with our transformational breath work? The acceptance of what is, allowing everything within each moment, makes the mind and the body strong. It is not, however just the study of any element, it is the application and committing to the work.
We will be uncovering an homage to Kriya by offering a morning gathering session where we can be together in community and share the energetic gift that this practice can return.
Plan to arrive between 5:45 and 5:50 to begin the cleansing ritual with hot water and lemon, we will begin promptly at 6. You only need to bring yourself and dress comfortably. We will embark on a seated practice to include Trataka (candle gazing), chanting, mudra and breath connected body movements. Feel free to stay afterwards for tea and community.
